Within the U.S. Government, are there currently any sufficient checks and balances? How are today’s laws and government policies different from those within the earlier periods in U.S. history? What governmental practices have remained the same over time?
Of 193 U.N. member states, 35 have unrestricted laws for citizenship that follow “Rule of the land,” or birthright citizenship; whereas, the remaining countries have restrictions or the “Rule of the blood,” in which citizenship is determined by parentage.
